BBS&RDA Dancers and Clubs Subsidy Program

1) Graduates’ Program

A named, non-transferable $50.00 Gift Certificate shall be given to graduates when they graduate as Basic, Mainstream or Phase 2 dancers. This is to be applied towards the next season's membership in a REGULAR member BBS&RDA square or round dance club.
Note about the class member / graduate:
  • - Must be a beginner – not a returnee who has danced in the last 5 years.
  • - Must not be an existing dancer who is transferring from another club.
  • - May be an existing square dancer graduating as a round dancer – and vice versa.
  • - May graduate at more than one club – but must designate a home club for that club
       to qualify for a Single bonus.

2) Club Publicity Program

A club will be reimbursed up to $300.00 for recruitment expenses (excluding caller/cuer fees)for any REGULAR member club that holds a Basic/Mainstream or Phase 2 class.

3) Mainstream Handbook Program

MACA will continue to buy the illustrated mainstream booklet and distribute it to class members free of charge. MACA will be reimbursed by BBS&RDA.

4) Caller/Cuer Bursary Program

Callers or Cuers attending:
- a recognized (by MACA or BBS&RDA) caller or cuer school;
- a convention that also has caller or cuer development sessions;
may be reimbursed up to $500.00 upon the presentation of receipts. An application form must be filled out ahead of time.
The form will have deadlines that must be met.
      The Bursary Committee will have a budget of $2,000.00 to be disbursed at their discretion according to eligible applications received.

5) The Multi Session Beginner's Teaching Program

A set of 3 (or more) two hours (or more) Basics/Mainstream or Phase 2 teaching/workshopping sessions taking place on one day or over several days will be encouraged with a grant of $300.00 after completion of the sessions.
- Any REGULAR member club can apply for this grant once a year.
- MACA can apply twice a year.
The following conditions must be met.
  • a) There must be a minimum of 3 sessions, each session being at least 2 hours.
  • b) Only the teaching/workshopping of BASIC/Mainstream or Phase 2 will be eligible for this grant.
  • c) The sessions must be open to any dancer.
  • d) Fun sessions, demos, regularly scheduled sessions or extensions to regularly scheduled sessions will not be eligible.
NOTE: The Club Bonus Program and Class Bash Program have been discontinued for the 2014-2015 season.
