Canadian Square & Round Dance Society

Honours & Awards

Do you know someone or a couple who have done much for square and/or round dancing and are deserving of a Society Award? Nominate them now. See the Society Website at www.squaredance.ca and look under ‘Society Information’ for ‘Honours & Awards’ or contact your Provincial Representative on the Society Board of Directors.

The Award of Excellence and The Long Service Award have been established to recognize the contribution of its members to the activity.

Award of Excellence
This recognition is reserved for those whose contribution to square, round, contra, clogging and/or line dancing is well outside the activities of the average participant. Accomplishments could be a single, exceptional result in a short period of time, or a steady, continuing, above-average contribution over a long period of time.

Long Service Award

Presented to persons who have made contribution and service to the movement and through involvement in their club(s), Associations, Federations, etc. over many years. Such service is beyond that of being a dancer. Length of service shall normally be a minimum of 15 years.

We would like as many of our dance community as possible to be made aware of the above.
